Entry into Quilon
After van Goens had been forced to break off the first siege of Cochin in the first days of March 1662, he made a tour along the Malabar Coast to put affairs in order before returning to Batavia. This print from Schouten depicts his entry into Quilon, which he had ravaged by a punitive expedition only three-and-a-half months earlier.
